Colm Joseph Gardens - Miscanthus and Rosa glauca winter structure
December 2020

First winter for a new Suffolk garden.

One of our Suffolk gardens, planted earlier in 2020, is already demonstrating the value of planting design with winter structure and texture in mind.

Our design for this rural garden was light touch, with the introduction of generous planting, multi-stem trees (Amelanchier lamarckii), alongside a new dining terrace and paths in simple clay pavers.

Careful selection of perennials and ornamental grasses that offer winter seedheads and foliage, in a variety of forms and textures, really helps to extend seasonal interest in the garden.
