We are a modern garden design studio delivering high quality garden transformations for our clients.
Our work is delivered by a core studio team of talented designers, collaborating with a wider network of highly skilled landscape specialists, construction teams, engineers, artisans, and horticulturalists.
Our design approach is focussed on artistry, vision and imagination, responding to the qualities, character and potential of each site. The joy is to imagine and realise beautiful, meaningful spaces loved by us and the people who use them, with care for the process, the people involved, and the natural world.
Colm Joseph named in House & Garden's 'Top 50 Garden & Landscape Designers'
A selection of garden & landscape designers viewed by House & Garden as "the best of the best ... handpicked for their knowledge, expertise, and imagination".
As studio founder and principal designer, Colm's work has been published widely and won multiple awards, including 'Grand Award' at the British National Landscape Awards 2024 and silver-gilt medal at RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2019. Colm is named in House & Garden's 'Top 50 garden designers'.
Colm previously worked as a management consultant and economist delivering projects to expand economic opportunities for people in Africa. With a long-held love of gardens and natural landscape, and a desire to live a more creative life, he retrained in 2017 and established the garden design studio.
Colm trained at the acclaimed London College of Garden Design (LCGD) at Kew Gardens, graduating as the highest achieving student in the history of the college. In recent years Colm has been a guest tutor at LCGD, teaching future designers in-the-making.
Kate came to garden design as a second career, studying first at Capel Manor College and then at London College of Garden Design, graduating with distinction from their specialist Planting Design Diploma. She spent a short time working as a self-employed garden designer before joining Colm Joseph Gardens.
Prior to training in garden design, Kate worked in various creative and management roles during her highly successful career in film and television post production.
Gina is a garden designer and gardener, with a passion for creating beautiful, landscape-sensitive spaces. She holds a Garden Design diploma from the London College of Garden Design, and the RHS Level 2 Certificate in Plant Growth and Development, both with distinction.
Gina also practices as a Clinical Psychologist in the NHS. Her transition into garden design was driven by an interest in the therapeutic benefits of nature, gardens, and outdoor environments on mental health and well-being.
